Welcome

The La Verna Retreat Centre, The Franciscan Friary, Rossnowlagh is a place of hospitality and welcome.

For many it is a place of peace and reconciliation while for others it provides a space away from the demands of life and an opportunity to rest and relax in a beautiful setting by the ocean.

The Retreat Centre is available to groups (religious, clerical, lay, mixed, schools) who may wish to have a time of peaceful discernment away from their normal living or working environment.

Purpose of La Verna Retreat Centre

For those who feel the need for a more extended stay, retreats have been organised, some directed by members of the community, and some by others.  To accommodate such retreats, and for those seeking peace and quiet, La Verna Retreat Centre has been built on the fill opposite the friary church.

At La Verna we aim to provide a welcoming environment where people can nourish their Christian faith, in a listening and healing space, in the way of Francis and Clare.

In the interest of caring for the environment, we have revitalized the garden area and also set up a polytunnel for the cultivation of healthy food, flowers and herbs.
